What it does

Cursor is a code editor and terminal agent that takes a task in natural language, plans it, searches the codebase, and writes and tests the change. Developers choose how much autonomy to hand over, from a targeted edit to cloud agents that work in parallel on their own machines and report back when the task is ready for review, and Projects add a coordinator agent that directs other agents across longer work such as a migration. It also reviews pull requests on GitHub through Bugbot and accepts task requests from Slack. Cursor became part of SpaceX in August 2026.
