What it does
Grok Build is a coding agent with a terminal interface that reads, edits and searches code, runs commands, shows plans for review and displays changes in an inline diff viewer. Its source was published on 15 July 2026 under the Apache 2.0 licence, with prebuilt binaries for macOS, Linux and Windows, and it can run interactively, headless for scripts or CI, or inside editors through the Agent Client Protocol. It extends through skills, plugins, hooks, MCP servers and subagents. Since 19 August 2026 the same name also covers an app builder on web, iOS and Android, included on every Grok plan, where a person describes an app, game, website or dashboard and gets a working version that can be published to a grok.me address or exported to GitHub.
